Hag Stones

Stones with a hole are considered, especially in Celtic traditions, to have sacred, spiritual and magical powers. Those that have at least one natural hole, usually created by water erosion.

Properties: Protection / They can banish negative energies / They protect the home, property, business / Health and healing / Fertility / They can reveal the truth – even the future.

You can tie them to something you want to protect. A common position is to hang them over a window, a door, or somewhere near your bed to protect you from nightmares. Over the front door to prevent any negative energy from entering your house. If you have many you can tie them together to strengthen their powers even more. By passing a bead or a pebble through the hole of the stone meditating on a desire, you strengthen the law of attraction, increasing the chances for your wish to come true.

According to some traditions if you close one eye and look through the hole of the stone with the other one, you will be able to see inside the fairy world, magical creatures that you cannot normally see, opening a window to other realities. If you look through it at the water you might see sea spirits, maybe even mermaids. In the forest you might see the tree spirits or beautiful nymphs.
