Arthur Edward Waite, poet and mystic, had the ideas and gave the instructions to Pamela Colman Smith, artist, illustrator, publisher and writer also involved in mysticism, who painted/illustrated all the cards, which were first published in 1909 by the Rider company.
This is why the deck is called Rider-Waite-Smith (RWS).

There are many Tarot decks available, many of which are very beautiful, well made, ornate, modern and/or impressive.

Our view is that if one wants to delve into the understanding and interpretation of the cards, one should first become familiar with the classic RWS deck and its symbolisms. The majority of the decks available are based on it.

There are many resources online as well as books that explain each card in detail. Not all opinions converge. The way we have been following is, after listening, reading and studying various opinions, we have come to our own conclusions about the various meanings of each card and the spreads that work best for us. And we continue to learn. Intuition also plays a big role. Some simply and intuitively read the cards in their own way and it works. But for most people this is not the case. It takes some time for the channels of intuition to open up. For some more, for others less. It is a personal journey and in time you will align with the energy of the cards and use them in the way it suits you.

It’s not easy but it’s worth it.

We printed this particular deck of cards ourselves and on the back side, in the upper left and lower right corners is one of our sacred symbols with the eye symbolizing perception, the moon symbolizing mysticism and the line downwards, which subtly opens and closes again, symbolizing the womb of creation of ideas and situations.
